GRAND AWARD Bruce Wynne BLACK BEAR AT HIS VISION
There was little hesitation on the part of the jury in their selection of Bruce Wynne's sculpture for the Grand Award. The emergence of a young and talented sculptor- whose work also received an award in the 1976 exhibition- is a reflection of the vitality and growth of American Indian Art. Images emerging from rough-hewn stone evoke memories of age old traditions and serve as reminders of the origins of a people.
